==From Side Roles to a Hero==

Vikram Chatterjee gained immense popularity right from his debut appearance in a TV serial on the Zee Bangla Channel called Saat Pake Bandha. Widely viewed by the public, the episodes of that serial made him a household name among the Bengali community in India. After an entry into TV shows, he made his break into the wide screen in Bengali movies with a small but significant character in Mainak Bhowmik's Bedroom (film). He was given a lead role soon after in the film Elar Char Adhyay, directed by Bappaditya Bandopadhyay based on one of Rabindranath Tagore's story of Kolkata of the 1930s. Vikram's portrayal of Atin in the film was appreciated by both the audience and the critics.
